Overview

What's inside an electronics box?

Electronics packaging used to mean a plastic tray. A molded pulp tray does the same job in paper fiber, so the whole box can go in the recycling.

An electronics box is a rigid outer with a fitted tray. The tray has a cavity for the device and smaller ones for the cable, charger and paperwork, so everything comes out in the order you planned.

Molded pulp is paper fiber pressed into shape. It cushions like a plastic tray and recycles like a paper box. Paperboard inserts work too, for lighter products.

  • Rigid outer. Lid and base, or book-style with a hinged cover.
  • Molded pulp tray. Cavities for the device and accessories.
  • Paperwork slot. Under the tray or in the lid.
  • Shipping carton. Plain corrugated around the outside for the mail.

Specifications

Board and build

Pulp tray or paperboard insert?

Both are paper. They suit different devices.

Electronics box insert options
InsertHoldsBest for
Molded pulp trayIrregular shapes, firmlyDevices with curves, heavier products
Paperboard insertFlat and boxy shapesLight accessories, cables, small devices

Our paper-first materials are 100% recyclable. A plastic tray adds a second material the box doesn't need, so we use pulp or paperboard instead.

Rigid box or shipping box for electronics?

The retail box and the shipping box are different boxes.

Sizing

Lay out everything that goes in

Lay the device, cable, charger and paperwork out on a ruler and take a photo. That's what we draw the tray around.

Send the device's exact length, width and height too. We add clearance on the dieline, and you can see the tray layout before you commit.

Products we box

  • Headphones and earbuds. Curved shapes in a pulp tray.
  • Chargers and power banks. Heavier products that need a firm cavity.
  • Smart home devices. Book-style boxes with paperwork under the tray.
  • Accessories. Cases and cables in paperboard inserts.

Finishes

Clean and precise.

Electronics packaging reads best with one sharp finish on the logo. Aqueous coating goes on every box by default.

Spot UV

Gloss logo on a matte wrap.

Foil stamping

Silver or black foil on the lid.

Embossing

A raised product name.

One measurement and a quantity is enough to start. Your specialist replies with a structure, so you can see the box before you commit to anything.

Inside dimensions of your product (length x width x height)

Not sure which side is which? How to measure a box.

Minimum 50.

How it works

Four steps, one person.

The specialist who picks up your first email stays with the project until the boxes arrive.

  1. Step 01

    Tell us what you're packing

Send the product dimensions, how it ships and how many you need. A photo on a ruler is enough to start.

  2. Step 02

    We draw the structure

Your packaging specialist builds the dieline around your product. Structural design is free.

  3. Step 03

    You approve the proof

Drop your artwork onto the dieline. We check bleed, folds and barcodes, and send a digital proof.

  4. Step 04

    We make and ship

Production takes 10–12 days on most orders. Boxes ship flat, packed in cartons, to your door.

FAQ

Custom electronics boxes: questions.

What is the minimum order for custom electronics boxes?

50 units per design. Useful for launch batches and crowdfunding fulfilment.

Is molded pulp strong enough for electronics?

Yes for most consumer devices. It's pressed paper fiber and cushions much like a plastic tray. Your specialist confirms the tray for heavier products.

Are electronics boxes recyclable?

With a pulp or paperboard tray, yes. The whole box goes in paper recycling.

Can you leave space for compliance marks?

Yes. Tell us which marks and barcodes the box needs and we place them on the dieline.

How long do custom electronics boxes take?

10–12 days on most orders, counted from proof approval. Shipping time is on top.

Honest fit

When not to hire us.

You ship devices in bulk to a distributor

Bulk orders to a warehouse need plain shipping cartons, not individual rigid boxes.

You need fewer than 50 boxes

Our minimum is 50 units. For 10 or 20, a stock box with a printed sticker will cost you less.

You need boxes next week

Production runs 10–12 days before shipping. If your launch is sooner, buy stock boxes now and switch to custom for the next run.

You want plain brown boxes

If nothing gets printed, a stock box supplier is cheaper and faster. We're worth it once the box carries your brand.

What's in the box?

Send a photo of the device and accessories laid out on a ruler, and how many you need. We'll draw the tray.
