Rigid boxes
Two-piece lid and base boxes in wrapped greyboard. The box people keep on a shelf.
Rigid box · Rigid board
Custom jewelry boxes are small rigid boxes with an insert cut to hold the piece: a ring slot, an earring card, a necklace pad. We make them from 50 units per design, with structural design free.
Overview
The insert matters more than the box. A beautiful lid on a ring that rolls around inside feels cheap. Start with how the piece sits, then design the outside.
A jewelry box is a small rigid box, usually lid and base or drawer, with an insert that holds the piece still. The box is wrapped in printed or textured paper and finished with foil or a deboss.
Because the pieces are small and valuable, two things matter most: the piece mustn't move, and the box should feel worth keeping.
Specifications
Every box is drawn to your product, so these are the options, not a fixed catalogue. Your specialist confirms the exact spec on the proof.
| Spec | Detail |
|---|---|
| Style | Lid and base, drawer, or book-style |
| Board | Rigid greyboard with printed or textured wrap |
| Inserts | Paperboard or foam: ring slot, earring card, necklace pad |
| On the wrap, inside and out | |
| Add-ons | Ribbon pull, lining paper, matching outer mailer |
| Size | Drawn around the piece and insert |
| Recyclability | Paper builds recycle. Foam inserts don't, so use paperboard if that matters |
| Minimum order | 50 units per design |
| Structural design | $0. We draw the dieline around your product |
| Proof | Digital proof on your dieline, checked for bleed, folds and barcodes |
| Production | 10–12 days on most orders, from proof approval. Shipping time is on top |
| Default finish | Aqueous coating on every box. Water-based, and it recycles with the box |
| Point of contact | One packaging specialist, from first sketch to delivery |
Board and build
The insert is drawn around the piece, so it holds still without being squeezed.
| Piece | Insert | Box |
|---|---|---|
| Ring | Slotted pad or ring roll | Small lid and base |
| Earrings | Card with pierced holes or slots | Flat lid and base or drawer |
| Necklace | Pad with a hook or slot for the clasp | Flat, wider box |
| Bracelet or watch | Pillow or C-clip | Deeper lid and base or book-style |
| Sets | Multi-cavity insert | Book-style or large drawer |
Paperboard inserts recycle with the box. Foam holds very small pieces more firmly. Your specialist will suggest one or the other for your pieces.
Compare
Some jewelry brands use folding paperboard boxes. Here's the trade-off.
| Rigid | Paperboard | |
|---|---|---|
| Feel | Heavy, kept | Light |
| Ships to you | Assembled | Flat |
| Best for | Fine jewelry, gifts | Fashion jewelry, high volume |
For fine jewelry, the box is part of the price. For fashion jewelry sold at volume, a paperboard drawer box or pillow box does the job for less.
Sizing
Send the piece's dimensions, or a photo of it on a ruler, and tell us how you want it to sit. We draw the insert first, then the box around it.
If you sell several pieces in one box size, send the largest. Structural design is $0, so you can see the insert drawn before you commit.
Finishes
Most jewelry boxes need one finish, not three. Foil or a deboss on the logo is usually enough.
Gold, silver or copper on the lid.
Logo pressed in. Works on textured wraps.
Raised logo you can feel.
Quote
One measurement and a quantity is enough to start. Your specialist replies with a structure, so you can see the box before you commit to anything.
How it works
The specialist who picks up your first email stays with the project until the boxes arrive.
Step 01
Send the product dimensions, how it ships and how many you need. A photo on a ruler is enough to start.
Step 02
Your packaging specialist builds the dieline around your product. Structural design is free.
Step 03
Drop your artwork onto the dieline. We check bleed, folds and barcodes, and send a digital proof.
Step 04
Production takes 10–12 days on most orders. Boxes ship flat, packed in cartons, to your door.
FAQ
50 units per design. Enough for a collection launch without a big run.
A slotted pad or ring roll. We draw it to your ring's band and head so it holds without squeezing.
Rigid jewelry boxes should go inside a small mailer. They're strong, but the wrap scuffs in transit.
Paperboard recycles with the box and suits most pieces. Foam holds very small pieces more firmly. Your specialist will suggest one for your pieces.
10–12 days on most orders, counted from proof approval. Shipping time is on top.
Honest fit
A rigid box can cost more than the jewelry. Use a paperboard pillow box or a printed pouch instead.
Our minimum is 50 units. For 10 or 20, a stock box with a printed sticker will cost you less.
Production runs 10–12 days before shipping. If your launch is sooner, buy stock boxes now and switch to custom for the next run.
If nothing gets printed, a stock box supplier is cheaper and faster. We're worth it once the box carries your brand.
Send a photo of it on a ruler and how many you need. We'll draw the insert and box and send a proof.

A drawer that slides out of a printed sleeve. Slower to open, which is the point.
Curved-end boxes for small, light items. No glue, no tape, one fold each side.
Tall cartons with a snug insert for the bottle. Foil and embossing earn their keep here.
